“The Women's Podcast Festival is a fantastic event for knowledge-sharing and a place where people from all over the community can build each other up!”

Ellie Clifford

Ellie Clifford is a freelance podcast producer who has been in the industry for seven years. Her work includes Money Talks for The Economist which won Best Business Podcast at the British Podcast Awards. She was the founding producer of POLITICO’s Westminster Insider where they brought together a huge range of politicians, historians, commentators, strategists and more to give a deep and revealing insight into the workings of Westminster alongside archive materials and interviews with contemporary politicians. The Westminster Insider team interviewed Rishi Sunak about his 2021 spring budget, spoke to Professor Niall Ferguson about his views on when the pandemic would truly end, took Mayor Sadiq Khan for chai and pakora where he grew up in Tooting and more, breaking news and making headlines in the process!

Her work on Babbage was at the forefront of Covid-19 and vaccine coverage moving fast to unpick complicated information and deliver news reporting quickly. Ellie has made news documentaries for BBC Radio 4 including a show with Financial Times Journalist Sebastian Payne which explored whether or not levelling up would be a success in England, speaking to business owners, residents and politicians from across the North and the Midlands - from Sedgefield and Liverpool to Stoke-on-Trent. Her other work includes a three-part BBC Radio 4 on electric vehicles - where we went from Land's End to John O'Groats - to the Great Women Artists Podcast. And I loved working on the amazing You Heard It Here First audiobook review podcast with Content Is Queen and Audible, and on Wanna Be for Content is Queen!

Ellie is bringing her wealth of experience to the news podcasting panel where you can expect to learn from the best in the business how to develop and produce podcasts in a fast-changing news landscape.
